Caving in the Yorkshire Dales

The Yorkshire Dales is home to the finest and most famous caves and pot holes in the whole of the United Kingdom.  A fantastic and mysterious subterranean world of winding caves, massive caverns, underground waterfalls, stalactites and stalagmites in abundance. You will be captivated by this wonderful world of fascinating rock formations.

This exclusive preserve of the highly skilled and experienced cave explorer is open to you to experience by engaging the services of a qualified Cave Leader to take you and your group through some of these spectacular caves.  No experience is necessary as a cave system can be chosen to suit your experience and ability.  First time cavers are especially welcome.

All the specialist equipment you require will be provided so that all you need to bring is a set of clothes that will get wet and dirty, and a clean set to change into when you emerge from the caves.

You can be assured that you will be led a by an appropriately qualified and well experienced Cave Leader who knows all of the cave systems in the area, and who places your personal safety above every other consideration.

The ideal day out on that miserable wet and windy day (real Yorkshire days!). The weather conditions are pretty much the same every day underground.

Try a Multi-Activity Day

If the idea of a whole day underground is a little daunting, or the prospect of participating in different activities appeals, why not have a day of two halves?  Spend half a day underground exploring caves and caverns, and half a day rock climbing and abseiling.

The Limestone areas of the Yorkshire Dales contain not only the finest caves in the UK, but some excellent rock climbing venues as well.

Alternatively, you could spend half the day caving, and half the day exploring the area on the surface, visiting the limestone features above ground that mirror the action of water on limestone in the caves. No less fascinating than the world underground.

A dual activity day can be easily arranged, and you will go home with amazing memories of a very special experience.
