Time spent enjoying the mountains is precious to all those who seek the drama, adventure, solitude and peace that is to be found there. You can enhance your experiences with the services of a mountain leader whose first concerns are your safety and the quality of your days in the hills.
Mountain Walking and Scrambling
Almost all of the high mountain peaks of The Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and
Snowdonia can be reached by simply walking, all you need is a reasonable level
of fitness and to be appropriately equipped.
There are many optional routes for most summits, well away from the popular
tourist trails. On the other hand, many summits offer the opportunity for more
adventurous ascents with rocky scrambles over steeper ground, or up a mountain
ghyll, the choice is yours.
Local knowledge based on many years exploring these wonderful places can be put
at your disposal to ensure you have an experience to remember.
You can simply join a pre-planned day walk by choosing from the walking calendar below to see what is available to coincide with your free time. This assures you of a day's walking on a classic route. When you book you will be given precise details of the time and place for meeting. The 'walking calendar' button below lists the dates, and the 'Days Out' button tells you more about each walk.
Mountain experiences can also be planned specifically for individuals and small groups or families based on your particular requirements, whether they are single day events, a short residential break or one week programme including multi-day backpacking treks. Perhaps there is a particular mountain you want to climb, a particular valley you wish to explore, or a special route you want to follow, your specific wishes can usually be granted.
Outdoor activity breaks and educational field trips can be arranged for school and college groups, the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales offering unique opportunities to study landform, geology and geography.
